Refunds & Event Changes

At Tough Mudder, we know plans can change — and sometimes so can ours. Below is a simple guide to how refunds, deferrals, and event changes work.

Remember: the General Terms of Purchase you agreed to at registration always take precedence.

Event Cancellations
If an event is cancelled or postponed due to circumstances beyond our control, your entry won’t go to waste — you’ll be able to transfer/defer your registration in line with our policy. We don’t cover travel, accommodation, or other personal costs related to cancellations or postponements. You may wish to consider taking out your own event/travel insurance to cover personal circumstances where refunds aren’t available.

Event Reschedules or Date Changes
If an event is moved to a new date at the same location, your ticket automatically rolls over to the new date. Can’t make it? Tell us in writing within 30 days of the announcement and we’ll give you a free deferral to another Tough Mudder Australia event in the same calendar year or to the same event the following year (this is a deferral option, not a refund.)

Event & Course Changes
To keep everyone safe (and the mud epic), we may adjust start times, course layout, distance, or obstacles. These operational changes don’t qualify for a refund.

Transfers & Deferrals (How it works)
If you can’t attend your registered event for personal reasons, you may be able to transfer your entry (to a different start time, format, event, or person) or defer your entry, subject to cut-off times, availability, and any applicable fees. When transferring, you’ll pay any difference to the current ticket price, and no refund is given if the new option costs less. Full rules live in the Transfers section of the Terms.

Military Deployment (Refunds)
If you (or an immediate family member at the same address) receive orders for military deployment or required training that prevents participation, you can request a refund by providing documentation.

Promo Codes and Technical Errors
If a valid promo code didn’t apply due to a technical issue, contact us within 48 hours of purchase and we’ll retroactively apply the discount if the code was valid at the time.

Other Important Notes
1. All sales are final except as expressly set out in the Terms.
2. Charity registrations and third-party free code entries follow the charity/third party’s policy — we don’t refund these directly.
3. Nothing here limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

For full details, always check the General Terms of Purchase you agreed to at registration.
