We’ve found Australia’s Toughest Dad

We reckon we’ve found Australia’s Toughest Dad. Meet Dietmar.

You may recall we recently asked for you all to submit your stories of your tough Dads. We got some amazing entries and stories about tough, heroic and inspiring dads from all across Mudder Nation. But none more so than Melissa’s story of her Dad Dietmar.

“I’m sure my dad has 9 lives. When I was 4 he was electrocuted at work & received burns to his face & hands. When I was 21 he had a motorbike accident where he broke both arms & legs & spent 4 months in hospital. Then 18 months ago he was diagnosed with bowel cancer. He underwent 6 months of chemotherapy & was given the all clear in November last year. He bounced back from these extreme physical adversities without a second thought. He has been fit & active all his life & at 72 years old still plays tennis & rides his bike. He played football for his local club until he was 40. He is my hero & I’m glad I inherited his love of all things active.”

Now if that doesn’t make you want to get up off the couch and get out there and live your life, I don’t know what will.

Melissa and her father Dietmar have won two free tickets to Tough Mudder 2017, and keep an eye out for Dietmar on our upcoming Father’s Day campaign!

And a big shout out to all our amazing Fathers and Grandfathers who are part of Mudder Nation, we love you and thank you for always being there to lend a hand.

Don’t forget mudders, Father’s Day is just around the corner, so if you’re looking for a great gift idea, why not treat Dad to a day out in the mud!
