What is Tough Mudder?

Tough Mudder is a team-oriented 10-12 mile (18-20 km) obstacle course designed to test physical strength and mental grit. Tough Mudder puts camaraderie over finisher rankings and is not a race but a team challenge. We are for anyone who has ever followed their gut, tried to defy gravity, chosen “dare” over “truth,” taken risks, sought thrills, or is generally awesome at life. Turns out, it’s all been training. We are Tough Mudder.

Tough Mudder is more than a fitness challenge, it's a set of values lived out on the course, and in everyday life.

The Mudder Pledge
  • I understand that Tough Mudder is not a race but a challenge.
  • I put teamwork and camaraderie before my course time.
  • I do not whine – kids whine.
  • I help my fellow mudders complete the course.
  • I overcome all fears.

"The idea of Tough Mudder is not to win...but to have a story to tell."

Reasons you're interested

FACT #1 - You probably deserve a beer

But you have to earn it first. If it wasn't tough, everyone would do it. It's the tough that makes it great. And the teamwork. And the obstacles. And the fact that you just earned your beer. Do you think this guy just buys his beer? He doesn't.

FACT #3 – It's Mudder Season

You don't have to wait for another wedding to do something fun with your friends. Love is great and all...but so is Tough Mudder. Even better, you can invite as many people as you want and you don't have to buy a gift from Fantastic Furniture.

FACT #2 – Marathons are boring

Running in a straight line doesn't spike your adrenaline, but mud, freezing cold ice, electricity, and fire, sure as hell does. Why run kilometers on pavement, when you can do this, or this, or this.

FACT #4 – Setting a goal works

Before you sign up for another 30 day squat challenge or buy your next coconut water, set yourself a real goal. It’ll be hard to sit around in your trackies eating cereal and watching "something that definitely isn't porn", when you’re preparing for 18 klms and 20 obstacles.
