7 tips for Tough Mudder Spectators

We love seeing spectators cheering on their family and friends at Tough Mudder, and if you are spectating, it’s certainly a big day out, don’t be surprised if you’re as exhausted as your mudder at the end. So if you plan on coming along to Tough Mudder as a spectator, we’ve put together 7 tips to ensure you make the most of the day.

1.Buy your ticket online early and save. Online spectator tickets cost just $20, whereas they are $25 at the door. So get in ahead of time and remember to bring along your printed ticket, as well as ID. Same goes for parking tickets, you’ll save yourself time and money by buying and printing this ahead of time.

2. Expect to get muddy. While you are not participating, you will definitely get muddy! Wear rain boots or old sneakers and jeans that you don’t mind getting dirty. Same goes for a rain jacket and hat, as the weather on event weekend is always unpredictable. It might be worth bringing clean clothes (or at least clean socks) for the drive home.

3. Cameras, GoPros, selfie sticks, video cameras are all ok, but drones are a big NO. You will be able to follow the spectator route along much of the course and snap photos of your Mudder making very hilarious facial expressions, but for safety reasons we ask you not to bring your drone

4. Grab a spectator map once you arrive so you can follow the spectator route without getting off track, but also so you can find out what else is going on in the village.

5. Speaking of the village, we have so many fun activities and giveaways from our sponsors in the Mudder village, you can keep yourself entertained while you wait for your Mudder to return to the village. You can participate in photo booths and make supporter signs thanks to Biozet, shoes throws at the Merrell container, test your accuracy at the EFM tent and sample different products, all for free. Eventually you’ll need a break, so pull up a seat, grab a coffee and relax in the village until you get to see your Mudder go down Happy Ending and give you a big muddy embrace!

6. If you’ve got kids, a lot of the spectator route is relatively flat and pram friendly, but depending on recent weather, it may also be quite muddy, so just keep that in mind when you bring the little ones along. Make sure you stop by the Biozet tent to make your very own spectator sign.

7. Have fun and support not only your loved one, but all Mudders who are out there giving it their all. Oh and get ready to participate next year, cos we can guarantee you that you will want to!
